Welcome to my blog about 50 things I intend to try and achieve in my 50th year.

In my 20’s and seemed not to have a care in the world (apart from a mortgage!). I had my life planned out, but I blinked and now I’m 50 and things have turned out very differently – now how did that happen?

Well life may not always turn out how we expect it to, but whatever happens it helps shape us into who we become. The challenges we face on our journey only make us stronger.

I have been lucky enough to be able to travel, although there are still so many places I want to visit.  Experienced great sadness, heartache and lost loved ones. Had the support of family and friends who have been there in those times of need. And of course the love and support of a wonderful husband.

So, what was I going to do for my 50th birthday – a question I was asked many times. Maybe a party. Have a mid-life crisis. Do something adventurous.

I’m not the adventurous type, so throwing myself out of a plane or bungee jumping was never going to be an option. I didn’t fancy a party, so after doing some surfing I found this idea. Doing 50 things for your 50th, simple – or so I thought. So I started my list. My criteria was not to make it all about things for me, but to give something back to the world I had now been in for 50 years.

I have not fully completed my list intentionally, as I thought that suggestions from you would give this challenge another twist and make the adventure even more exciting (depending on what those suggestions are of course!), so please feel free to put forward your ideas.

So in no particular order enjoy the adventure with me.

Enjoy!
